Master Class: Your Novel in Workshop
13-14 August 2011
Toronto ON
Immerse yourself in two days of workshopping your novel-in-progress and the work of your peers. Part master class, part critique session, this intensive weekend will strengthen your writing with input from bestselling novelist Barbara Kyle and your fellow emerging writers.
The first section of your manuscript is crucial. To interest an agent or editor at a publishing house, you want your opening 30 pages to be the best they can be.
At this Master Class you’ll get:
- Workshop sessions in which Barbara and the group will critique the first 30 pages of your novel and the other participants' novels. Novels in all genres are welcome.
- Talks from Barbara on craft: how to build powerful scenes, enliven your dialogue, and reveal "deep character," plus a Q & A session on "The Business: Getting Published"
- NEW! A talk from Barbara on the exciting new opportunities in e-publishing.
- A private one-on-one evaluation session with Barbara to discuss your work's strengths and weaknesses
- FOR INFO and/or TO REGISTER: email Barbara at: bkyle@barbarakyle.com
Please note:
- Registration is limited to 10 participants
- To be accepted you'll be asked to send 5 pages of your WIP or some previous work (your choice). For details email: bkyle@barbarakyle.com
- Registration at least two weeks in advance is recommended. This allows time for all participants to have read each other’s work when the Master Class begins.
DATE: 13-14 August 2011 TIME: 9:30 – 5:30 both days
